Five years after their last album, Public Enemy returns with a project dedicated to all their supporters. Chuck D and Flavor Flav wrote on 𝘉𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱, the launch platform for 𝘉𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘬 𝘚𝘬𝘺 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘴: 𝘈𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 2025: "We wanna THANK the fans, this album is the GIVE BACK!". The production is classic PE-style, with a vintage flavor, packed with electric guitar riffs and hard-hitting drums driving the militant rhymes of their leader. Flav, as usual, responds with less fiery but sharper and more colorful verses. Like in 𝘚𝘪𝘪𝘪𝘤𝘬, where Chuck unfilteredly depicts a society growing sick, tangled in unfulfilled policies and a declining economy. When the tension rises too high, Flav steps in right on time: "𝘋𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘤𝘬". In the opening of 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 (𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘴), Chuck emphasizes the centrality of drums in hip-hop music: "𝘎𝘦𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘶𝘮𝘴 / 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘶𝘯𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦", while in the second verse, Flav reminds us that the core of an MC’s voice lies in rhythm, percussiveness, and clarity: "𝘔𝘊𝘴 𝘯𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘳𝘩𝘺𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 / 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘩𝘺𝘮𝘦 / 𝘚𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘺𝘣𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨". Social issues are also present, as in 𝘔𝘈𝘙𝘊𝘏 𝘔𝘈𝘋𝘕𝘌𝘚𝘚, which tackles the long-standing debate on gun ownership in the U.S., particularly in sensitive environments like schools: “𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘢 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘢 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯”, spits Chuck, “𝘋𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢 𝘨𝘶𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘴? / 𝘒𝘪𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘯, 𝘯𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘶𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘴𝘰𝘯”
